Validating Microsoft Exchange Email Channels

Overview

This article will guide you on how to validate and sync Microsoft Exchange to ipSCAPE.


Pre-requisites:

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator rights for the email address

  • No other Azure / Entra accounts are logged in

  • Browser in Incognito or Private Mode

  • Workspace Username and Password


  1. Open a new incognito browser window and log in to the Workspace via Username and Password (Do not use SSO). Ensure that there are no other tabs and windows open for ipSCAPE in Incognito.

  2. Open the Email Channel Module and edit the email channel for validation.

  3. Depending on your organisation’s need, email channels may be validated in either sending emails, receiving emails or both.

Receiving emails
  • Check the Tenant ID and Client ID values to ensure that it matches the App registration details from Entra ID / Azure.

  • Check the validity of the Client Secret. Skip this step if Client Secret is still valid. If the value has expired, create a new client secret in Entra ID / Azure and keep the value as it is only shown once. Enter the Client Secret Value (not the ID) in the Client Secret field in ipSCAPE Email Channel page.

  • Click “Save and Authorise

Sending emails
  • Check the Tenant ID and Client ID values to ensure that it matches the App registration details from Entra ID / Azure.

  • Check the validity of the Client Secret. Skip this step if Client Secret is still valid. If the value has expired, create a new client secret in Entra ID / Azure and keep the value as it is only shown once. Enter the Client Secret Value (not the ID) in the Client Secret field in ipSCAPE Email Channel page.

  • Click “Save and Authorise

  1. A new window will pop up, asking for Microsoft details. Enter the login details for the email address used in the email channel.

  2. Once Microsoft email is logged in successfully, click “Save” on the lower right-hand corner of the edit email channel page.

    A toaster message will be shown if the authorisation is successful or if the validation failed.
